Wood Street Fiesta scene

Wood Street Fiesta

Commissioned by London Borough of Waltham Forest (supported by the Outer London Fund), 2012

An event to celebrate the regeneration of Wood Street and inspire the local community to use their recently developed plaza for  exciting and engaging events. Working closely with local organisations and businesses, artists, creatives, architects and the borough we designed and produced an exciting family friendly fiesta and a space for people to feed into plans for the redesign of the adjacent play area. The plaza was dressed in a colourful fiesta style and highlights included a giant piñata, powder paint celebration, tea dance, basketball court silent disco, neon light art commission, hammock playground, street training, bubbles, hula hooping, Punch and Judy and live music.

The events put on over the August Bank Holiday were so well received by the local community that they want events every week!  Hunt & Gather provided a colourful, imaginative event on the Saturday, and a classic/ stylish film screening on the Friday night that will hopefully help the community be more adventurous in terms of the events they put on in the future.  Thank you Hunt and Gather.
